Position Overview
Insurance company is seeking an experienced Paralegal for its Legal Department in Carmel, Ind. This full-time Litigation Paralegal is primarily responsible for responding to third-party document requests, supporting the management of certain litigated matters and performing day-to-day corporate paralegal work.

Primary Duties
• Assist in-house counsel with discovery requests on litigation matters
• Assist with the initial assessment, management and tracking of various administrative or litigated claims
• Assist with document production, including gathering and reviewing key documents
• Maintain legal case files
• Work effectively with other teams including the Underwriting, Claims, Sales and Legal Departments
• Maintain strong and effective relationships with internal units
• Perform tracking of Legal Department matters
• Participate in special projects as assigned
• Provide support to in-house counsel
• Support the activities of the Legal Department

Skills/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience preferred
• Experience with an insurance company or insurance defense work strongly preferred
• Certification in paralegal studies preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with respect and integrity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
