Downtown law firm seeking paralegal to work in insurance defense practice.

This candidate should possess:

- Strong work ethic
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong organizational, research and writing skills
- High degree for attention to detail
- Working knowledge of the laws and rules applicable to insurance defense litigation helpful but not required
- Skilled in Microsoft Office programs
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferable but not required

Duties include:

- Maintaining MS Access database for monitoring data in cases in all phases of litigation
- Maintaining and updating client materials and integrating new information into client files for future cases and discovery responses
- Drafting correspondence, discovery, pleadings and docketing all trial dates
- Serving pleadings and reports via electronic filing systems
- Creating PowerPoint presentations for use at client meetings, State and Federal
  Courts hearings and for use at jury and bench trials
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, hearings, expert witness depositions, etc.
- Summarizing medical records, depositions, and other records
- Responsible for keeping clients abreast of cases via weekly, quarterly and annual reports
- Performing investigative research via on-line databases, including LexisNexis and Accurint
