SUMMARY.  Small family law firm in the Keystone at the Crossing area is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal.  Our current paralegal of 15-years is moving on.  The new candidate will be responsible for assisting 3-4 attorneys in all areas of legal operations and administration. The position is full time with paid vacation, paid holidays, health insurance, 401(k) matching, and basic life/short term disability insurance. Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience.

DUTIES.  Preparing legal documents and correspondence including, but not limited to, QDRO’s, IRA Transfer Orders and related forms, basic and complex pleadings, marital estate division summaries, basic and complex Discovery to parties and non-parties, Subpoenas, quitclaim deeds, sales disclosures, Income Withholding Orders, appropriate forms to establish child support accounts.  Assisting attorneys with preparations for hearings and trials, including exhibits, communications with court staff, other attorneys and their staff, our clients and potential witnesses. Meeting and/or communicating with clients to assist with the completion of financial declaration forms, discovery and other case related matters as needed, e-filing documents with courts, as well as other litigation/administrative support functions and responsibilities as needed and required.

QUALIFICATIONS. Must have a minimum of 3 years of family law experience in Indiana, educational background in Paralegal Studies and hold a paralegal certificate; Be a critical thinker and creative problem solver; Professional demeanor and positive communicator; Ability to work independently and as part of a team;      Excellent typing skills and computer literacy, including a solid understanding Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel applications; Be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task; Highly motivated with the ability to manage her/his own time and tasks effectively.
